Top Safety Accreditation for S&E Cleaning Services Limited
As a Contract cleaning service provide based in the east midlands S&E Cleaning Services limited has secured a prestigious safety award.
The firm has become the latest business to receive accreditation under the flagship SAFEcontractor scheme, a programme which recognises the very highest standards of health and safety practice amongst UK contractors.
The highly respected scheme is designed to help large businesses find contractors whom they know operate safely and also to enable contractors to generate more business by proving their health and safety credentials to their clients.
More than 130 of Britain’s largest businesses including Kelloggs, General Motors, Procter and Gamble, Next, Pizza Express and EDF Energy use the SAFEcontractor scheme as their principal means of pre-qualifying contractors.
Users of the scheme also include many top names from the manufacturing, construction, property and facilities management, leisure and retail sectors.
More than 100 different work areas are covered and over 13,000 contractors spread across all areas of the UK are now members of the scheme.
S&E said it wanted to secure SAFEcontractor accreditation in order to ensure a uniformly high standard of health and safety across its business.
SAFEcontractor accreditation is also designed to help companies secure new contracts from increasingly safety-conscious clients determined to protect their reputations as well as reduce injuries and accidents on their premises/sites. It also helps members to secure more attractively-priced insurance cover.
Managing Director Andy Brissett said:
“Clients take health and safety seriously and many use SAFEcontractor to develop and maintain their approved contractor lists and search for new ones. As a result we envisage this accreditation playing an important part in our continued success and growth.”
Operations Director of SAFEcontractor, Darran Hughes, said:
"Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that S & E Cleaning Services Ltd has done. The firms’ high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies in this sector.”
Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines their health and safety procedures and track record. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website. For more information log onto www.safecontractor.com.
Client companies and organisations that sign up to the scheme can access the database, which enables them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site. These employers agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.
